ROLE IN NATIONAL NETWORKING ACTIVITIES

Kenya Revenue Authority, a Parastatal under the Ministry of Finance - Government of Kenya has a mandate to collect revenue and facilitate trade in the region and implement Customs global procedures.
It has four Business Areas -1: Customs Services, 2: Domestic Taxes, 3: Road Transport Services and 4: Support Services.

All these divisions have implemented automated online services which makes network infrastructure very very critical - core to business success and survival.

IT has an ISP Licences and Manages its own network infrastructure for over 100 branch officers and a stakeholder of Kenya Internet Exchange Point - KIXP.

My Current Role is to Administer the Systems (Applications, Web Server, and Database)  - Windows, Linux and SAN Storage as well as Configuration and Maintenance of Security appliances in LAN and DMZ - Cisco PIX 525, 501, 515E and AS 5580. 
I assist the Network Administration team.
